O.K. Leave the kid go. No one has any way of proving the kid is lying, so just take his word for it that he's on the up and up and let it go.

I agree. When in doubt give the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks Bob, Moss.
I know it sounds weird, a 14 yr old Landscaper. For one its a family owned Business. In fact, on Lawnsite, theres a bunch of guys my age that work with equipment and all that good stuff. Junior M is the best known on there.
If I get my Camera back I'll try to get some pics of our equipment and all that good stuff. If we get another job soon I'll also try my best to provide pictures and possibly video.

We see lots of kids your age and younger operating large machinery in agriculture around here. Just not in other business like contracting and such. That's why it sounds odd.

Anywho... we all like pictures! So shoot some when you get a chance. :)

Its not really construction, our main and almost all of our work is Landscaping. Yard maintainence, Yard perparation and installation, Tree services, Mowing, Snow Removal, Hardscaping, pretty much anything that has to do with Yard maintainence. At the most our biggest industrial work is small Demolition jobs like busting up driveways, house foundations, stuff like that. Nothing big and industrial ;) Too much for me.

On another note regarding kids and adults... before we had the internet, we had CB radio. I got a set when I was about 13. It was a Teaberry Tele-T 23. It had a telephone handset and looked like you had a phone in the car. I set it up on a 12V power supply in my bedroom and put an antenna up outside. Then I started listening and talking to people all over Northern Indiana. My folks asked who I was talking to. Some wherr friends of mine, my age. However, I started talking to many adults. I don't think my parents had a clue. And then I'd ride my bike down to a local restaurant and meet them. I met some biker dudes and their old ladies, some local truck drivers, a mentally handicapped kid my age and an old dude in a wheelchair that drove a kidnapper van with his one good arm. And that arm was heavily braced. His left arm and legs didn't work. I still can't figure out how he drove and talked on the CB at the same time with one arm in a brace. When that green panel van with a handicapped dude and the leather clad biker couple pulled up in my driveway to talk fishing, my folks weren't too pleased that I gave out my address. Things turned out O.K. They didn't murder anyone or rob us. I stayed in touch with them through high school. But it could have turned out very, very badly.

Anyhow, you gotta be careful around adults. You can unwittingly tell them things about your folks that they could use to harm them. Knowledge of guns, money, hours of work, location, tools, electronics, let alone when mom or sis is home alone. That kind of stuff.

So, my advice is don't be too eager to share information with adults. There are some badduns out there. ;)

This IS JUST AN ONLINE FORUM!!

JJ-Why so hostile?

In 1967 at less than 16 hears of age, I was (legally, w/supervision) repairing brakes and exhaust systems at a Firestone store in Sunbury, PA.

Also legally running hay balers and corn pickers. Many countries to which I travel have people of this age learning to actually do things.

The Power-Trac Forum is a much healthier place for social interaction with adults than nearly any of the ones usually frequented by 14 yr. olds.

Regards,
Mark H.

yeah, remember we are a "family friendly" forum, so kids will have to go elsewhere to pick up expletives and the like.

You might wonder why Willie changed the hours on the Dixie Chopper from 1000 hrs to 3002 hrs on TBN, and on Youtube, it listed 2112 hrs, Mistake, maybe, sure. Ask him if his dad owns the John Deere or does his dads friend own it.

Wether Willie is the real thing or not really doesn't matter. I don't see what he said or did, other than use up some of our knowledge, that would call for us coming down on him like a ton of bricks. You live, you learn. His cred is used up, it will be harder for us to give him a straight answer but I think I learned some things from his questions.

As for whats real on the net... Man, who knows... I could tell you that I was supposed to work with MJ producing a project for him (true) but the bastard died on me (semi-true, my boss blew the deal), or that I said Hi to Julia Roberts yesterday (true, and she still is hot) or that I drive a 1993 F-150 (champaign in color) that no one thinks is cool in LA (true) and that I am eternally thankful I made mortgage this month due to the wife taking a crappy low budget movie (true). Unbelieveable as it may all seem, some things are true, just subject to interpretation.

So, I say lets kill this thread, erase it all. Seems to make me feel we PT Owners kinda look bad for this thread....
