All,
I have been unlucky lately and got stuck a few times with my YM2210. I should have gotten the 4x4 but now I am stuck. This tractor will be good ones I reach the end but until then it is foreseeable that I get stuck ones in a while.

So - I do not want to trade it in for something bigger&better. Alternative I am thinking about an old 9N or so as a companion. But my wife has not warmed up to this yet.

Is there an electrical winch that you can recommend that I can mount on the YM2210 to be able to pull me out when I need it?

Thanks!

you can get good 12 volt winches off ebay very cheap.I have a titan 4500 that come with a block on my 2 wheel drive tractor that works great .then you can use it to put attachments on the front

Any of the automotive type winches will work. Just make sure you get enough of a weight rating to pull out your tractor (in my opinion it is 1.5 times the weight of the tractor).

I've thought of this as well. Is there a brush guard out there with a winch mount? It would likely be easily fabricated if not, but is there one already being manufactured?

I recently got my JD 5403 stuck (I hate gophers) and was unwilling to risk getting my truck stuck trying to get it out. It was a Sunday and the only thing nearby that was open was Wallmart. The only wench they had was a off market 1 ton 12 volt model, but it was cheap. While I wish I could have gone to Tractor Supply or somewhere to get a better unit, this little guy with a little help from a shovel and some old tires was enough to get me out. I was about 12 to 16 inches down in the back and more in the front, thanks to the gophers and my tractor weighs about 6000 lbs. So a little help can go a long way.

I've made it a routine to get stuck at least once a week lately (mud), and the 3,000 lb winch on my RTV900 gets me out every time.

I can easily imagine modifying a Harbor Freight winch to the front or back of tractor to get unstuck, but you're going to have to provide the tree... The RTV weight 2,000 lbs, and it makes a good anchor when the operator stands on the brakes.

Good luck!

Thanks Y'all!
I looked around and can get 4500 #'s winch for ~$180 to $220. My tractor weights 2200 #'s so I guess I should be fine. A friend is a welder and he could make me some brackets for the front of the tractor where the Koyker FL sits in.
Any other comments welcome - I will monitor prices and comments for a while.

I have plenty of trees to get pull from.

I had a Ford 1300 2wd with turf tires and I ended up running chains on it year round.

I'm running chains on my R4s, but mud is mud, and I sink/chainsaw to the chassis. I really have no business trying to do field work this early in the season.
