Winch

I was wondering if anyone has mounted a winch to there front bumper of their tractor. I have a kubota 2800 and was wanting to mount a winch on the stock bumper with some modifications. I want one to use in the event i get stuck back in the woods and the truck is far away. Also what size winch should i get?

After I - I mean my neighbor! - got stuck in the mud I got a big Warn 9.5ti 2" hitch mounted winch.

This way I can move it from my truck to a 2" adapter for my 3PH very easily - plus it won't interfere with the FEL. The downside is that if I have a 3PH implement attached I may have trouble getting it off to get the 2" adapter on the tractor, but worst case I can probably just chain the 2" adapter to a tree and pull the implement out separately. Of course since my "neighbor's" incident I've been more careful and haven't gotten to the point where I couldn't weasel my way out with the FEL so I haven't gotten any use out of the winch yet.

I have a B7500 and I mounted a winch on it a couple of years ago.I have used it a couple of times and it works well.It is a 2000lb.winch off of a ATV.I use a block and tackle system which doubles the strength.I'll see if I can post some pics.

An inexpensive alternative should you find a way to keep it with you is a 2000lb $75 portable chinese 12 winch. they may be cheaper than that now. There is also a bigger one available, something like 12,000 lbs.
