I plan to build my own home, its tough to find anyone that isnt just a salesperson and possibly impossible to find information of any kind at the big box stores.
Can someone here tell me the differences in window varieties that I should be considering when building a block home?
Im not that clear on installation, I replaced the windows in my current home a few years back and I cannot remember if the windows were screwed directly into the concrete block or if there was some sort of a wooden strip?
Ill need too of course have an idea of how I will need to set up this new structure to accept these new windows.
When buying new windows online I have the choice of buying a replacement window and a new construction window, when buying windows at Lowes or Home Depot they never ask that question, they only ask what the building structure is.

This is a very important step in home construction. I would contact a local lumber yard that sells Andersen windows and go with their 400 series. Their are other quality brands, but I like Andersen for all around quality, price and service.
I have built quite a few homes and additions and have never had an Andersen window failure or warranty claim. I have 66 windows in my home. All the windows are Andersen 400 series. They are going on 20 years old and I have zero issues.
Dont forget to install head flashings over your windows and use plenty of sealant between the flange and the buck and sealing tape on the outside.

Can you tell me where to look up number?
Can you tell me if you see any issues with the information below. I have a meeting with architect on the first of next month, Ive been waiting weeks just to get this appointment. I dont know how many more weeks after the appointment Ill have to wait just to get some drawings and submit for permitting.

If you look up "miami-dade notice of acceptance" you'll get lots of NOA sites that include lots of different building materials. You need the NOA number for the windows - I do not see it on your invoice. Go back to the sales person and ask for it. When you do that also ask about the CR 53 value AND have them show you glass that has the CR 53 - it is a very low color rendition number. The U factor and the SGHC numbers are very good and I suspect that is because the CR is low.

I was recently talking to a builder in Pinellas County. He told me that he uses hurricane-rated windows instead of windows that require detachable hurricane shutters. Do the very strict building codes related to hurricanes and wind-resistance and tie-down apply to your area? If so, the code will probably dictate the type of fasteners, what they're fastened into, how hurricane shutter anchors must be mounted, etc.

Does not pertain in my area, I believe it is anything 25 miles or less to seashore. Dont quote me on that. Im further inland
