Unfortunately, your other comments to me (mostly in another thread) have often been less polite than a "view," clearly not at all "funny" or "kidding around," and have at times amounted to an unnecessary and not very nice personal attack.
I don't mean to beat a dead horse here, or be a whiner, but I didn't want to pretend that some of what you've said to me amounted to "kidding around." Now, I will leave it at that.
Nope, was voicing my opinion, everyone has one. I hope you are not calling that a personal attack? You’ll have to show me where I made a personal attack. I’m usually pretty careful. But I’m not backpedaling either, in my opinion based on the information you provided in the other thread I would have handled it differently. By posting your experience on the internet you open yourself up to differences of opinions. Or maybe you are sort of soliciting advise. If you don’t want any comments then maybe you can lock the thread. Maybe only the admin can do this.
In this thread it is my opinion that it might be best if you let the dealer do all your work in the future. You'll have piece of mind, something to fall back on in case of a problem, and you will be protecting your investment. It's not a personal attack and it's not something that you have to do. If I was on a legal forum and had legal problems because I tried to file some paperwork and am now in trouble and someone suggested I get a lawyer I'd wouldn't take that as a personal attack. I might even take their unsolicited advise.
Rosey came in with a comment in this thread and you came down on him pretty hard. Did you consider that a personal attack? You ended with “But, um, thanks for the unsolicited advice anyway.” Again, you post on the internet you should expect any and all advice. In the other thread there were others that though your actions could have been handled differently. Personal attacks? Egon also suggested if you have any doubts about doing it then let the dealer change the oil next time.
Feel free to take this off line in a PM, I’ve already sent you one to try and do so. Or you can email me….rob_n_houston@yahoo.com.
Have a (not backpedaling) good day!
