Won\'t Start after Stall

Well I be XXXX the wife wanted to learn how to drive it so after an hour of lessons she managed to get it stuck and stalled it out going uphill. I thought no big deal told her to restart, well all we got was engine just turned, no smoke no start. Tried several more times, same results. I got the started fluid sprayed a couple of squirts, engine coughed and knocked but didn't catch. So now I am thinking since it's pointed uphill perhaps it ran out of fuel. Filled up the tank still no start. I just don't think it is getting fuel. Any advice?

Re: Won\'t Start after Stall

Maybe it needs to be primed. I have no chinese tractor experience, though there are plenty here who do, I'll bet you'll hear from them soon. Search the Chinese tractor forum, there are explanations on how to prime it.

Re: Won\'t Start after Stall

Sorry, I did prime it I also unscrewed the bleeder screw [the one with the ring]. Is there a certain proceedure to this, meaning do I first unscrew the bleeder, then pump??? I did notice that as I suspected there is no fuel going into the injectors. I unscrewed one of the injector fittings on top of the fuel pump then turned it over, no fuel came out. Is there supposed to be fuel coming out while using the manual primer pump? Less than 10 hours and already broke. That's a new record for me.

Re: Won\'t Start after Stall

Running out of fuel also sucked the fuel filter dry. If you didn't fill the fuel filter after topping off the tank, you're going to have to do a LOT of pumping to fill IT up - BEFORE you get any fuel at the injectors.

Loosen the fuel filter, pump till you see bubbles coming out the top. Tighten it slightly, pump some more - till raw fuel runs out. Tighten it down completely. Loosen the hard lines at the injectors slightly and repeat the process. When raw fuel runs, tighten down and try starting again.

Be EXTREMELY careful using starting fluid with Jinmas. Unlike spraying it into a gasoline engine, you can lock up a diesel if it's applied incorrectly.

Re: Won\'t Start after Stall

Do as Greg stated and also make sure fuel shut off didn't loosen up and let lever move to fuel shut down even though knob might be pushed inward. Stranger things like this happen once in awhile.

Re: Won\'t Start after Stall

Ok here is what I did no luck on start but I will run down whats happening. I could not unscrew the fuel filter, it was on too tight for me to get it off without the old screwdriver and hammer routine. I tried a Boa wrench as well as the filter wrench included in the tractors tool box. So insted I cracked the bolt on top of the filter see picture and red arrow. Fuel ready spilled out when primer pump was engaged.

Re: Won\'t Start after Stall

The second thing I did was to unscrew the lines leading to the injectors to check for fuel. I am unsure if I have the right ones please see the picture with the red lines. I unscrewed all three and pumped, no fuel came out. Now what?

Re: Won\'t Start after Stall

Greg, I hope I followed your directions. If I missed something please let me know. I don't mind trashing the fuel filter if it will get it started,,,,
