My TN75VA stops running or won't rev past minimum after operating normally for a period (e.g., 30 minutes). Often, just before the engine quits altogether, it suddenly drops rpm to bare minimum and won't respond to movements of the throttle. Then, after the engine dies and won't restart, we often, but not always, can get it running again by disconnecting the feed to one of the injectors while we turn the engine over. However, this last time, disconnecting the injector feed didn't enable the engine to start back up. Instead, I just let the tractor sit for a week and it started back up without disconnecting the injector feed.
It has been suggested to me that intermittent symptoms of the type I am experiencing can arise after the injector pump is exposed to water tainted fuel. I do change the fuel filter from time to time, and the old ones have always been intact following removal.
Anyone else experience similar symptoms? Intermittent problems can be so difficult to diagnose simply because they are intermittent.
