Wood Stove Opinions Wanted

The only issue I have with this stove is way my wife loads it when I'm not home. Instead of setting the wood in she slides it across which ends up loading the right side up with ash and cinders. I cut my wood to a twenty inch length so maybe it may be a bit too heavy for her I'm not sure. I keep my mouth shut, as I'm pretty happy she will mind the stove at all.
Ahh,
Well said /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ditto on the side door, always used that with the Hearthstone for loading. We did use the pop-in screen on the front for those "fireplace effect" times and it works great. We had that house for 4 years, and burned 1.5 to 2 cords a winter. Every spring i did the "chimney sweep thing" and cleaned out the creosote, so i never had any issues with the stove at all.

I have been burning wood with various wood burning stoves for over 20 years.
The first stove I purchased was a Hitzer. It was a very good stove. I also have had furnaces installed in my basement that burned wood. I live on 41 acres of hard wood forest and wood is free for cutting. Please be cautious! Wood developes creosote. I have experienced a chimney fire with the wood furnace and also a fire from my fireplace. No damage to my home. This was seasoned hardwood. My last and final purchase was a Heatmor outside furnace that is situated 80 foot from my house. No chance of a housefire here.
It is the best purchase I have made. No worring at night and only feed it twice a day to develop 200,000 Btu.
