Woodmaxx Snowblower Shear Bolts?

To me you either have to shorten the driveshaft or add a QH. The only thing that could make the top link drift out would be the shaft being to long and lifting it the shaft is hitting and forcing the top link out, something has to give.

I have never seen this problem with the second picture, The only thing that I can think of that would cause what I see in picture number two is the driveshaft is to long and making the top link piston drift out as you raise the blower off the ground and makes it tilt down. You are most certainly breaking sheer pins because of the angle it's in. Also you would benefit from installing the draft arms on the lower pins so that it doesn't lift as high.

What? if it is attached to the lower holes, the box will lift higher......

I may try that next. Maybe you guys can answer something for me. For 15 years a friend of mine let me use his Ford 26 hp tractor to do my snow removal. I had a 3 point blower on it, and never had any issues. One thing I noticed that is different from his and mine, is when I lifted the 3 point arms, the blower box always came up level. When I lift this blower box, the only level location is on the ground- as soon as I lift it, the blower starts tilting down- and may be a problem if I try to blow at any level other than at the ground level. With my friends tractor, I could lift the blower 2' off the ground and back into a snow bank with no issues. I cannot do anything of the sort with this. Oh, by the way I tried it with the fixed top link and it does the same thing. It's a geometry issue, I just don't have enough experience to figure out what is wrong....View attachment 592280 View attachment 592281
Those photo show a very strange situation. Measure the length of the top link between the lower and upper positions to see if it is somehow extending. Also, try raising and lowering the blower without the PTO shaft installed, taking measurements and angles and compare with the PTO shaft installed. Just brainstorming.

Good idea. After removing the shaft, lift the blower to see if it's angles out without it.

So, maybe you guys can tell me.... when your blower is on the ground, what position is your top link? I am guessing, pretty much parallel to the ground or slightly lower. I think in the old tractor I used it was a slight downward angle. Nothing like the angle I have. The more I think about it the more I am convinced that because the top link is so far extended down, as the 3 point rises, the top link is pushing the box away from the tractor, causing it to tilt down. I think other than the possibiity of the QH having an effect, I may need to extend the top mount of the blower higher so my rod isn't so extended down. Next summer I will get someone to come fix the valve issue and add a valve specifically to run the backhoe and I will have a different valve for the top link.

The sun just went down.... I'll do that tomorrow as soon as the temps are above below zero.

It's not extending, the same thing happens with a threaded top rod. I'll try that tomorrow.
