Woodmaxx Snowblower Shear Bolts?

My top link is also angled up slightly when it is installed in the lowest set of holes on the tractor.

OP, how about moving your top link on the back of your tractor from the top holes to the bottom set of holes?

You guys are brilliant (or I am a dope).... but it made a HUGE difference. I never even SAW those holes. So I will put my hydraulic top on and see how this works. It still looks a little high- it would be nice if when the box was lifted, it stayed level. Any more ideas? I guess the next step is the QH as it will move it out a ways and maybe lessen the angles....

Glad to help, looks like it changed the pivot point to your advantage.

buy a quick hitch and leave the hydraulic top link off until you need it for something else you will be better off.

Have you tried using the lower mounting holes on the blower? This will shorten up your top link.

Yes, you need to move those lower link arms to the bottom holes on the bottom of your blower. That, with the change you made to the top link mount, should change "the angle of the dangle" enough to get you there. I would personally leave off that @#$! hyd top link until spring.

It looks like you guys worked on this problem all night.

The top link should be as close to the same angle as the lift arms as the holes in the tractor and implement allow.

I need for you to do one more thing and I will stop pestering you.

When you get the quick hitch on the mule and reattach the lower links and the top link I want you to use a long level to level the snow blower using the top link. THEN be sure to lock the nut for the top link in place and LEAVE EVERYTHING ALONE and you will be able to clear snow pack.

Please understand that you do not have to do any messing with the angle of the snow caster just leave it level and do not use the hydraulic top link.
Just be sure to check the nuts and bolts holding the skids on to the snow caster and use blue Loctite to hold the nuts and bolts together. you only need a few drops if you are using coarse threaded nuts and bolts.

Happy snow clearing
