Woods BH6000 or new tractor

My point was never discussing the functionaliy of either the Woods or the Kubota BH. I'm sure both will do the same jobs as well, one maybe a hair better than the other. Don't know which and doesn't matter for trading purposes. I guess I wasn't expressing myself clearly. My point was that for those of us that have the trading disease, as I'm suspecting in the OP, has to look at trade value sometimes as more important than one being 5% better than the other. For traders, which one will sell quicker and bring more on resale and using purchase price to determine the better financial deal. How does the buying/trading public perceive the item for sale as which one is more valuable. In some cases truth isn't as important as perception and that is, I believe, the truth with the buying public.:) Me being me, I have to present the mentality/side of Kubota traders more so than Kubota users.:D You users are doing good representation for the majority but us minorities have to be heard.:)

Agree with Tom and John on all counts.

To the OP: If your machine was the BX1800/30 or the BX2200/30, I'd say without a doubt that the Woods would be the way to go. Unless, of course, you were looking for a general upgrade. Which is fine, too.

The only wrinkle is that you have a BX1500. While there are well documented cases that this tractor in combination with the BH6000 is a VERY functional combination, none of us can say that it would perform "just as well" as any other of the previously stated tractor/backhoe combinations. In all likelihood, you would have some diminishing of capabilities...how much is a matter of speculation. Perhaps nothing you'd ever notice without actual measurement.

Nonetheless, that question mark makes the discussion revolve back to a BX25.

Certainly hope the best of luck in your decision making process. And your negotiations with your wife. I know that's who ultimately "bought" my tractor.
