where are you guys getting these woods backhoes from; a woods dealer, or woods directly?

if i could get a deal like nickel plate, i would write a check tomarrow.

i am getting quotes of $8800 for a kubota brand backhoe, no thumb, no bucket, nothing fancy.

I've never heard of Woods selling directly so it must be through a dealer. Gotta believe that either Woods is giving major league discounts or the dealer is selling at cost or below for that particular deal.

I'm sure some dealers are hungry, and for $100 profit you can buy about anything. Puts food on the table for that night anyway. In the past, when things were good, you could sometimes get a great deal just for paying in green backs. All depends on the dealer.

So far, this has been an exciting experience to purchase a new Woods BH90-X backhoe w/hydraulic thumb from a dealer on the other side of the country, fingers crossed that everything will be ok after shelling out a huge cashier's check and yes, the backhoe, 18" bucket and hydraulic thumb totaled $7000.00.
The dealer promptly sent me receipts and a shipping tracking number. If you have never used a tracking number for an item being shipped to you via truck freight, you are in for a new experience. Daily updates as to the whereabouts of your item are posted for you to read and track. Here are some of my listings:

6/23 Freight picked up from shipper location.
6/24 Projected delivery date of 6/30/2009
6/24 Trailer closed. ready for dispach
6/24 Driver in Iowa
6/26 Trailer enroute: DRIVER SHUTDOWN AT CALIF BORDER-ANTS IN TRAILER (Yes, the trailer was fumigated!)
6/26 Trailer enroute: At LA terminal

So it still looks like the hoe will still be here tommorrow. Once it arrives and all is well, I will post back and toss a plug in for the dealer. Honestly, I too shopped three fairly local dealers and couldn't get within the $2000.00 difference. If you go on the Woods site, look at the dealer locater and you will see dealers who are authorized to order from Woods and dealers who are PRODUCT STOCKING DEALERS. I didn't find my eventual dealer that way but I did find the local STOCKING DEALERS who seem to get a better price due to their Woods commitment.

Did $7000 include shipping? If not how much for shipping? That deal almost sounds toooo good.

Please re-read: BH90-X, hydraulic thumb, 18" bucket=$7000.00. I left out shipping because it more than likely would not apply to anyone unless they lived near me. Belive me-it was toooo good and that is why I bought it AFTER researching their brick and mortar store. The hoe should be here tommorrow.

The BH90-X arrived about an hour ago so the month long waiting ordeal is over and now on to the installation.
I found the dealer on e-bay (backhoe attachments) as they sell and store list Woods products however almost all of their backhoes are orange. Not to fear-they are happy to quote other colors. Look up backhoe attachments on e-bay or type in Rosseel's Farm and Garden Supply, Inc. for their home page and brick and mortar store location in Chesterfield, Michigan. They do advertize that they are one of the top ten Woods distributers and your contact will be Dan Rosseel. I really had some early on reservations about transacting in far away places, (I live in the Central Valley of California) I can now say that the whole process worked smoothly and exactly as Dan laid it out for me. There you go.

Nickel Plate, Your deal does seem incredible. I paid $8800 plus VT tax for my blue BH90-X about a year ago from my local NH dealer. It included a subframe, mechanical thumb and installation. If I remember correctly, they quoted the hydraulic thumb at extra $1200. Not sure that I would have been up to installing it myself, but would have at least considered it for your price. I love the BH and it has allowed me to do things on my hilly 10.5 acres that I wouldn't have imagined without it. Enjoy!

Am really happy that Nickel Plate is satisfied with his purchase from Rosseel's. I, too, was happy with my deal from them, but was nervous about recommending Rosseel's after only one purchase. I had bought a Woods PDR 7200 finish mower for $1900 after confirming that local dealers in my area wanted $3000. Local dealer also had to order (not in stock) and Rosseel's had it in stock (a high volume dealer). Congratulations, Nickel Plate, on your purchase. (Another story: I once purchased a 2910 Kubota at White's Farm in NY for $5000 less than area dealers. The computer is a great tool.)

Thanks for your backup testimonial about Rosseel's. They truly preformed as per agreement. I don't have any future needs as to another tractor attachment but if I ever do, I will contact them again. Sideline-I am taking my Calif. Class A Commercial driver's test tomorrow-I have already passed the two written tests. In order for me to haul my TC-40 and Woods BH90-X backhoe on my equipment trailer, I need a ticket similar to an 18 wheeler less air brakes! Wishmeluck.
