Anyway, I built mine for my pallet forks for similar reasons to Gary's. We have a very cooperative community here (with lots of JD tractors) without skidsteer quick change front end loaders on them. They do however have pallet forks so it's very easy to hook it up. As to it coming off, well as you can see from my pictures of my temporary set up the chain with the shackle connecting the links together would have to break and since the pin is threaded into the shackle, very little chance of that. I have plans to add a plate that will have 3/4" holes in it to attach the manlift to the forks through the mounting holes you can see in the pictures. No chance of it coming off.
My FEL has the quick change front end on it and while I had considered using it, I opted for the forks method instead.
