Bob,

I'm surprised at you! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif You should know by now that TBN'ers will always come up with the weirdest, strangest, most unusual problems....and solutions /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif....anywhere!/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif That's what makes hanging out here so much fun!/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Bob, I seemed to recall some John Deere instrument panel fogging problems being taken care of under warranty. I don't recall all the details, but maybe try this thread for a start.

I'm in Seattle and if I didn't work in the rain I'd cut down my possible usage hours dramatically. I'm planning on much work in the rain over the long haul. Out here if you don't play golf in the rain - you won't get many rounds in either.

Thanks Bird! That gives me some real numbers to quote to the dealer. Not that I expect the dealer to be anything but helpful.. but it never hurts to have some ammo to use. As the old saying goes, "Luck tends to favor the person with the largest gun." -- or something like that. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Thanks again!

On the few occassions that we get caught playing golf in the rain, I've always told my buddies to cheer up, it could be worse. We could be out in Washington and complaining about the sun coming out! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Golfgar4,

I played yesterday afternoon. It was hot (90 or so) as heck but so was the putter. This time of year it doesn't rain much here - except for today /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif.

It's great when the flat stick is working, isn't it? /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

I played last Monday in our league, and I couldn't hit a straight shot if my life depended on it. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif And hot - boy - I think the heat index was around 96! /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

I was really surprised to find when I got to the course that my team was in 1st place! We've never done better than 3rd. I was telling my partner that night that there must be about 11 other teams about ready to commit suicide, cause we just haven't been playing solid golf at all this season. Well, we're going to enjoy it while it lasts. Who knows, it may be one of those quirky years and we may pull it off! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Golfgar,

Best of luck with the team. First place that is impressive. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif Is this a large league? Heat index at 96 is not good. I spent a year in Arizona playing golf and it was hot but I was much younger then and didn't care plus I was skinny enough to hide in the shade of the palm trees. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

I drained 4 puts over 20 ft AND had the driver working straight and looooong. Bad news is the wedgie wasn't cooperating as well as I'd have liked (hence the 20+ foot putts). But three birdies the hard way is always nice. Hope I can keep the putter working for the tourney next weekend. Then I got home and did some brush hoggin. A good day all around.

Boy, am I envious!/w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif Tee times and seat time in the same day!

Our league, which is a mens' church league, has 12 teams in it. Most of the time, an outside observer wouldn't be able to tell that it was a church league!/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif This is my team's second year. After getting to 3rd place last year, we ended up finishing in 7th place. Considering that we had subs playing about 80% of the time in the second half of the season, I guess that's pretty good!

Boy, I'm happy if I get one 20+ footer in during a round. Getting 4 to drop is awesome! You must of felt like Tiger (or Phil, or David, or Davis, or fill in your favorite player!), huh?

Good luck in your tournament this weekend. I'm not going to be able to get out Sunday. We're hosting a party for my Mother-in-Law's 70th birthday on the 6th, and I have to help the wife finish wallpapering the downstairs bathroom and then spray paint all of our outdoor furniture so that it matches our new patio awning!/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif I think there are a few other things on the list too that I haven't heard about yet!/w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Hey, keep it down the middle! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

GolfGar4,

the way I've been putting lately I've been lucky to get a 10 footer to drop in a round. Yesterday I switched back to my "new" putter that I had put away since it was failing me (always blame the equipment). You can probably guess which one I'm going to be using in the tourney. Thanks for the luck I'm sure I'll need it. I wouldn't go so far as to say I felt like Tiger (yep he's my favorite) but when leaning over my ball the knees were NOT a shaking.

I'd like to do a league like that. Do you guys only play 9 holes though? I can't stand to only play 9 (I usually need the back side to restore my faith in the game).

As for your mother-in-laws, (what a good son-in-law you are),

I've been using that new Hammerite spray paint for some metal things I've been painting. It works really well and leaves a great finish. A little spendy as far as spray paint goes but it seems worth it. Certainly your mother-in-law is worth the added expense. /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif
