Im doing some preventative maintenance on my friends tractor. I did the last oil change about 3 yrs (55 hrs) ago. I replaced the factory filter with a wix 57000 filter. Now that same wix filter locally is fetching $35. I realize prices have gone up, but this is a little steep for what it is. What filter is everyone else using these days or is everyone biting the bullet and over paying? I dont want to cheap out and get a $5 fram at walmart, I know the importance of a quality filter.

According to cross reference, you could use a New Holland 86546618 filter, $10.05

New Holland website shows the oem filter as: MT40283380
Wix cross ref is a 57000
Baldwin cross ref is a BT223. But Baldwin crosses to a Wix 51374 not 57000
Fram 3614 does cross to a Wix 57000 and the BT223

To confuse me more the Fram 3614 happens to be the same oil filter as my Toyota tundra, Toyota Hilux, and Snapper mower with a Kawi engine, which I cross all of them to a wix 51348

In case anyone is interested. I found the oem filter crosses with the popular Fram 3614, which is a cheapo filter at Walmart $4. However, for $13, the new Fram synthetic endurance (FE3614) is a good option to the OEM.
