Another butt ugly over priced truck.

Interestingly, my '97 Ford 350 has the PTO option on the trans. In fact most trucks do (have the blanking plate on the trans ) if the trans is a manual.

Of course the truck PTO is designed to run a hydraulic pump (direct couple), not a PTO shaft.

My RAM has the PTO provision on the transmission. If money were there, I would do a PTO out the back to Tedder hay, air compressor, or a PTO winch out front. Too much money going into farm equipment and my kids college tuition though.

Some dump trucks have a gearbox on the pto with a shaft running between them and the pump. Personally I like the direct mount pumps. But converting the shaft drive mounts to out the back power shouldn’t be that hard. Pto front winches aren’t that uncommon. Personally I’d rather have an onboard generator, a hydraulic winch and forgo the hay tedder option.

I'm not really a fan of the grill, but it just looks like a truck to me - not ugly, not pretty, just a truck. But then I don't buy a truck to win a fashion contest.

Can you show me the PTO front winches they arent that uncommon? I’d like to look at the cost.

There’s about zero of them on passenger trucks. I see them on utility trucks.
