Think hard about the second doors. I extended my shed (to fit the second tractor) and my ground sloped too, but I put the second door in anyway, and over the years I've added enough fill to get out (in summer) the other end. Or side entry always works well. Jockeying about was a real annoyance, so do what you can to be able to get either out without moving the other.

As for the loader - I'm with you. Get a dump trailer instead. You can move a lot more material a lot faster towing than carrying, and you already have a loader to load the trailer with.

Unfortunately, the shed is beyond that decision. But it slopes about 42 inces over 24 feet, so I don't see how I could have made it happen in my situation anyway. There are a lot of pictures in the thread I started in the projects forum...if interested see the "I feel like Spencer JR" thread.

Now behind the shed I do have a little roof with drive through cabability...so I really do see the advantage of that feature. But can't happen now...at least for me in this shed.

BigEddy, I thank you for your advice. Even if it can't help me, it may haelp someone in the future. Archives are so worthwhile and useful.

Last fall I tried something different, at least I THINK it was different...and built a little roof over my RFM. It kept the snow off and worked real great. I am thinking I may do the same for the brush hog I am getting. why tie up shed space for these things?

What I plan on doing is making something more permanent.
A roof that roatates upward to make removal of the implement easy. But still keeps the weather off over the winter. I will post some pics this fall...

( Ok Henro,

I'm assuming you would be using the smaller BX as a mowing machine for the vast majority of the time, with a loader not mounted. Why would you want a second loader that you would have to hook up....... when you can just hop on the B2910 with the loader already in place and ready to go. (You would probably have to back the B2910 out of the shed to get to the loader for the BX. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

This is your voice of reason. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If you were thinkin' straight you'd be buying a tractor for each rear impliment that you owned so you'd never have to change a 3 point impliment again! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif ) If you were thinkin' straight you'd be buying a tractor for each rear impliment that you owned so you'd never have to change a 3 point impliment again!

A nice avantage of more than 1 tractor is less implement switching.

Poster, unfortunately I got into boats before this tractor stuff came along. I have a 40 X 60 drive through shed that a pontoon boat (that the wife won't part with) blocking the drive through path. My son has a 34 Ford crammed in one corner, the 16" fishing boat is along side of the pontoon and the 73 Granville convertible along the other side. There are 2 riding tractors, tiller, 1988 Chevy pickup and a ton of junk in the way. I know now that I should have went 60 X 60 or 60 X 80 when I built the shed. Would someone please convince my wife that we don't need the pontoon boat? Only used it once last summer and I want another tractor. Help!!!!!

I came face to face with reality about our boat when I renewed the trailer license and realized that the prior years license renewal sticker was never put on the trailer. In other words, the boat had not been in the water in almost 2 years.

Talked it over with the wife and called my son and told him to come get the boat for free.

As we discussed, if we want to go fishing in the future we can hire a guide and his boat for a day for about what it was costing me to keep the boat and trailer registered and insured every year.

Besides, if I really wanted to use it I could always go borrow it from my son.

I learned that trick with a wheelbarrow years ago. I bought a wheelbarrow, which we all know is a pain in the neck to store when you have a small garage. My neighbor would borrow it occasionally. The next time he borrowed it I gave it to him. After that when I needed it I could "borrow" it back and in the meantime it was taking up space in his garage, not mine!

Robert

Are you running the 7109 loader. I have the 7109(at least I think that is the right number) on my 2120 and have used it since 1987. I find it very useful and have lifted and moved mountains of stuff with it. If I remember correctly, the loader for the 1920 and 2120 are the same except the 1920 has a pressure relief valve which the 2120 doesn't have. I can pick up over 2000 # and have quick attaches on both the 2120 and TN and share all attachments.

I personally can't imagine a tractor without a loader unless it was only used for mowing, pulling wagons, and 3pt hitch stuff. to me a tractor isn't general purpose without a loader.

Absolutely agree! A loader with QA and pallet forks / bucket has got to be the most important implement for a CUT. I use my pallet forks much more than I do my bucket. A loader with forks is like having an extra helper with two very strong arms. And they don't complain!

I would say no to the second loader.

You already have a good sized machine with a loader.

If your getting a new tractor to help out with chores like mowing, why go to the extra expense for a little loader. Make the BX the mower/light duty. and the 2910 your proect / HD tractor.

I'd save the $$$ and buy attachments for the big tractor...JMHO............J

I never loan my tractor or my Pick Up. If someone needs them I will do it for them or with them, but I will be operating the truck or tractor.

Loaning your car is a good way to get hit with jacked up insurance premiums or even canceled coverage.
