^^^^^^ VERY TRUE
My 24 year old nearly perfect Mercedes E-320 just got totaled today by a woman who hit me while I was at a traffic light.
I no longer had collision coverage as the car was 24 years old (my mistake!)

Lots of time, and effort, (and much frustration) will be wasted getting conflicting answers, shuffling paperwork, and sending E-Mails to her insurance company.
The woman's insurance should pay, but I am not counting on it.
Current E-320 value is $4,000 - $6,000.
I expect I will get stiffed!

I wonder as to the age. if you had collision if they would pay you much at all?(your company I mean).Sorry to hear about your accident.

My wife thought it was a mistake not having full coverage when her old car got hit.
I did the math on how much it would have cost for the years she drove with just liability and showed her that the replacement was free based on what that full coverage would have cost her.

We bought an E320 Mercedes Benz station wagon for European delivery, had a blast driving around Germany and France. We had another couple with us on the delivery, good friends. We sold the E320 to them a few years later and found out the guy totaled it, another case of "I missed the brake pedal and hit the throttle." Such a good car.

You might try to find a seller of BKT tires.
I am very pleased with mine, and BKT's are sold by many tire shops.
BKT's are made in India.

I appreciate the info, but already had the tires last week. Got "Deestone" R1's for the front at $82.68 incl. tax and no shipping for the pair. Rears are Carlisle R1's that were $222.58 for the pair w/ tax and no shipping. The fronts are an odd size (5-12 and NOT 5.00-12) that aren't plentiful.

Insurance is gambling. You have to be smart about it. For me my 3 year old 500hp Dodge Challenger cost me $55 full coverage, so something a lot older probably cost me half that. Even if its not worth much to pay 20-25 for full coverage per month with maybe half of that being collision, so for maybe 100 bucks a year might be worth it unless you drive a real turd.

We got people around here that done insure their home, then are crying for hand outs when the place burns down. On the flip side of the coin I probably pay 8-10k a year in total insurance payments, health, home, car, etc. Problem is the what if.

Yes it can be a gamble. What gets me is it cost less to insure my newer more expensive vehicles for full coverage than the older ones. So figuring the break point isn’t always easy. I review my insurance needs once a year so at each yearly billing I do the math on the older cars, trucks and bikes and drop full coverage when I feel it won’t pay to keep doing so.
If the vehicle is a keeper or can qualify as a classic or better, I simply switch it to a stated value policy along with the other collectible’s.

OT, but if you have Farm Bureau insurance, no amount of coverage will cover hitting a deer. (you'd think 'comprehensive' would) BTDT with neighbors last week.

Blue book value is $4,000-$6000.
The way I see it is, that makes the street/sale value of the car $4,000-$6,000. and the woman who slammed into the side of my car (her insurance) should pay.
We shall see what happens.
I AM prepared for disappointment.

Now begins the search for an under 70K mi. white 2014-2016 E-350 Mercedes.

depends on state sometimes the plan. In NY hitting a deer is collision, now if deer destroyed the car while parked comp would kick in.
