Let me highjack my thread.... :)

Can anybody with a J2023h or XJ2025h comment on the three point hitch control? My impression is that it is center detent with momentary up or down control when held off center. I would prefer what passes for "position control" these days, where the position of the lever relative to the range of travel represents the position of the lift arms relative to the range of travel (and simplifying "repeatability" of implement height.

2023 owner here.

No, the 2023 and 2025 do not have position control on the 3pt. They have what i describe as a standard hydraulic control. Going from a tractor with position control 3pt to this style did take some getting used to initially. At first, i didn't like it but after i got a feel for the mechanics, i don't notice anymore.

I've spend hundreds of hours in the seat of large ag tractors with 40ft implements and controlling up and down on the implement is done with the same type of hydraulic control. Just took me a while to get used to the lever as opposed to a finger switch on the big ag tractors.

Anybody have a J2023H or XJ2025H with backhoe AND mid mount mower?

The images I've seen of the backhoe make it appear that the subframe runs to where the verticals for the loader are attached. Is this correct? I assume this means that the mid-mount deck can't be attached when backhoe is present (not that I'd want to use them together).

How difficult to install/remove the backhoe? What about the 3PH lift arm and linkages when the backhoe is attached?

Thanks.

I know this is and old thread. Any XJ2025 or J2023 owners out there care to give an update on how they like their machine? I went and test drove a XJ2025 tonight and seems like a nice little tractor. Id like to run a 6 foot finish mower and post hole auger with it. Dealership said they would load the rear tires with rimguard for free.

I have the 2023 & LOVE it. Just under 100 hrs. it has been great. As far as a 6 ft. mower- shouldn't be a problem, but LS recommends no larger than 5 ft. I run a Woods PRD6000 (5ft.) & it works great. The only issue I have had is a cracked muffler- nothing a mig weld couldn't fix.

2023 owner here and I love my machine as well! I think a 6ft finish mower would be fine provided you're not using it like a brush hog. 5ft is the biggest you should go for a brush hog. 80 hours on my machine and I work it pretty hard. Moved about 50 tons of gravel and dirt without any trouble.

Glad to hear. I originally started looking at the larger XG and XR tractors. But I only live on 3 acres. Mow about 2. Id like to do some boxblading and driveway maintenance and light loader work hauling firewood up to the house. I already have a 6 ft boxblade but not sure if that might be a little big. It just seamed to me that a larger machine might be too big for what I really need. Plus a lot more pricier.

I have a J2023 and live in western Pa. I like the tractor, but have added rim guard and 2" wheel spacers. It is much more stabile now. The MMM is a 5ft, have been having trouble with the belt, as there is no tensioner except for a spring. This last belt I went with a 2" shorter belt and is a totally different mower now. We have around 200 hours on it and is just a year old.
