XP woes

"Media mail" is a new term for what used to be called "4th Class Book Rate." Book Rate was/is a special, cheaper rate for books, especially important for educational institutions and libraries.

I guess they expanded this rate to include any type of learning media---books, computer disks and files, etc. Hypothetically the special lower rate is meant to encourage "expansion of knowledge." Am not sure if that will be the result with your XP, but let's hope so! These days even the "media mail" rates are not that much cheaper than 1st class. But yes, it is the slowest teansit possible, up to 3-4 weeks. As always: "talk walks, money rides."

Thanks for the information, BobT. I was a postal clerk in Dallas for 5 years; used to know all those rates. Of course, I was selling stamps when first class postage went from $.04 to $.05. Airmail was $.07 and special delivery was $.30./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Do you remember how long ago that was?/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Sorry everyone Im kinda late on this thread but man I just ordered a dell dimension8200 on the 19 of dec and all it comes with is XP, Still have not recieved it yet and now Im hopeing it works correctly. Starting to wish I had paid the extra for a micron, but we have nothing but dells at work and you can beat them with a hammer and they keep on ticking. The enviroment these cpu's are in and only had one go bad. ( chlorine gas and dell= dead cpu) So I hope Im not in for a bad cpu.
