In Denton, TX, today, I noticed Walmart, Quick Trip, Race Trac, Chevron, and Exxon stations all had signs showing regular at $2.149. I don't know whether it was an error or not, but the only one who's sign I noticed showing diesel was the Exxon and the sign showed $3.299. I know diesel has been running 40 or 50 cents higher than regular gas, but $1.15 higher.

Amazing price drops I can hardly believe it's still happening. I filled up three five gallon cans of gas and three of diesel last week because they were empty and I needed the fuel (and the price seemed right ); it's dropped another 10 cents in less than a week. I am NOT complaining, but where is the bottom??

My 200 gallon diesel tank is empty, but the last time I filled it up, I paid $4.17 for it, and that's farm dielse prices. Now that I've burned up all that expensive stuff, I'm hesitant to go buy another 200 gallons when the price is dropping so quickly. Instead, I bought twenty gallons for $3.09 at the gas station instead of loading up the trailer and driving ten miles each way to the farm diesel place.
I'm not sure how smart that was, but it was quick and easy, so the extra .35 cents a gallon sort of justifies my laziness.

Got gas for 2.44 yesterday at Speedway in W.Va.
here in Oh it was 2.54.

Gas in Des Moines hit $1.97 yesterday. Who would have thought how happy we would be to see $2 gas?!

I posted the above on 10/28/08. Two days later, 10/30/08, I stopped and filled the pickup with gas at the Quick Trip; still $2.149. But then when I went on to Walmart, they were down to $1.959 (my usual luck; I only paid 9 cents a gallon too much). So yesterday, my wife and I were out in the van and I noticed Quick Trip had come down to $1.959, but Walmart was $1.939 so I filled up at Walmart. This morning, my wife sent me to Walmart for a few things and as I passed the Quick Trip, I noticed that they're now down to $1.939, but Walmart has come down to $1.919 (at least I only paid a couple of cents a gallon too much yesterday).
