professional traveling sawyers are the norm in when I was building in Austria...
The farmer would fell the trees and haul to a predetermined site to have them sawed as requested...
Some locals would sign on for labor or to offset the cost of sawing pre Covid which has hit the region hard...
Each owner had a unique mark... it has been done this way for many decades... even back when it was steam powered.
The problem is Covid has taken a toll so milled lumber is in short supply...
The exposed beams were all from trees on the property...
I would think it is those having timber ready to go but then their output is down so are they really making more money overall?
