I have run into a few neighbors/acquaintances that are oblivious to the high lumber prices. They just buy what they need when they need it, and have no idea prices are sky high right now compared to normal times. This is about the worst time to embark on unnecessary projects but some folks don't know that.
I am pretty happy I got my sawmill up and running last year. My next challenge is to figure out how to process/treat wood for projects where I'd normally use pressure treated lumber. I have a trailer I need to re-deck and some outdoor stairs that need hand railings. The trailer deck can probably get painted with a diesel + used motor oil mix, but hand rails need something less hazardous to humans.
