Domush,

I appreciate the post but I am not sure what bolts your refurring too?

I will look at your restoration project today.

The bolts you remove from the housing itself. You just re-insert a couple of them back into those threaded holes and "tighten" them (although you are really just screwing them through the housing, as there is nothing to tighten them against). As you screw them in, the bolts go through the housing and push off the transmission, thereby separating the two. After that, you just scrape off the gasket and pull it off.

I used a strap to support the housing and simply pivoted it aside, that way I wouldn't have to lift it back in place. Was much easier that way.

when I said transmission, I meant differential, sorry.

The housing I speak of is that big plate looking thing through which the axle protrudes and has about six or eight bolts. If you wish to remove the axle, that housing must go with it.

Sorry I missed your reply.
The bolts and studs were OK.
Maybe some extra help needed.
Do you think the kit will fit my Green?

The kit is listed under the red and green but Hoye could answer that question. Does your brakes look like what you see in the kit?

Interesting the plate was welded on. Is it welded solid all the way around or just in spots? Asking thinking if it is just spot welded you might grind the welds off to remove it. By now I'm thinking you know what kind of access it would allow to get to the gear bolts. Might not be worth it. Just thinking outloud.

It is welded solid along both sides. I don't know the reason ,maybe water?
I think I could have gotton to the bolts from under there but I will never know.

I looked at your restore.
I don't know if I would have the patience to take on that size project.
Looking good:thumbsup:
