yanmar 2000 power assist

does any one have knowledge on power assist on a yanmar 2000? it has a loader and we sold it to a customer. he brought it back due to some leaks on the hoses and we discovered the power steering wasn't working. mechanic took a small spring out of a tube looking piece and it was broke. there was also a nut and washer in the same small tube just loosely laying there with the broken spring: they were just loose. can't figure out what their purpose is.i've found some diagrams from past post but we know nothing about power assist and how to find the problem. the three point hitch is working fine, there is just no power steering and the company we buy the tractors from has yet to return our call on how to fix this problem!
