Without extra weight on the front you are probably ok, but looks like your front wheels are turned around. I may be all wet, maybe the turf tire rims just make it look that way. Sure not advised with a loader.

I wanted to flip the rims (all the stems are facing out now) because I wanted it to be wider for my sloping property. I measured the offset on the front wheels, they were the same either way. The rears look like I could maybe get an inch total, but the offset is very close there as well I decided it wasn't worth the effort. I don't see any markings on the wheels indicating they were ever mounted the other way either. The front tires are just wider than the ag's I guess & I think they said 2 ply, so would have to swap them if I ever put a loader on I think LOL! .

Actually thats a 5ft box blade and while its useable, it's a load on it. I also have an 8N and this is its replacement so if possible I have the implements set up for both. I also have a 5ft bush hog but since I live in the desert I don't have heavy or wet grass, usually just patchy weeds, so it does great for that and it doesn't run hot like my gas 8N. Some times when I mow it may be well be over 100 in the shade so the cooler running the better. I have yet to see my Yanmar get an oil temp over 185 and the head usually is around 145-155 even under a heavy load. California, on here, is the expert on 240D's and has been a big help. Mostly just stupid questions since these things are built like bricks so I also haven't added much. I am adding, and recommend, a ROPS if you have any hills at all. They are more tippy than an 8N and I put an inclinometer on it just to keep an eye on how close I am. I get scared early though, so Ive never been close! Have fun with it, its a beast!

Was looking at getting a 5' box blade, good to here it's at least doable. Same type of mowing here, weeds & patches of grass here and there & the occasional sage brush. Thank GOD it very rarely sees 100° here (we make up for that with -40 -50° sometimes in the winter) :( it should run pretty cool here I hope. Seems to be a great group of folks on here, an awesome resource for sure! ROPS is something I probably need to track down, you are correct, they are more tipsy than the 8n's & my property is sloped in spots, I think you would have a hard time getting off one of these quick if it started to go as well.

There is a kit from Hoye that extends the rear wheels out like 4 or 6 inches on each side. There spacers. I want to buy it. They only had ot out for a year or so.

Yep US model 3 did get YM yanmar have an internal over run. I pull a 4ft box blade with my 2nd 2000 it's all I want in heavy dirt when really cutting a road. I have a 5ft and 4ft bush hog and even in moderate grass it turns the 5ft fine. But in tall very thick it's too much.

Awesome tip on the spacers...... Is this them Rear Axle/Wheel Spacer Kit (Both Sides + Hardware): Yanmar Tractor Parts ? A little spendy, but cheaper than a rollover!

Our dirt sets up like concrete in the summer, might want to start looking for a heavy duty 4' box, I guess I could pull a ripper or 2 if a 5' gets to be too much in the hard stuff.

No brush hogging here, but I'll let you all know how the 6' finish mower does when it gets here.

Thank You! It will have an easy life here & hopefully still be chugging along in another 30 years (not so sure about me LOL).

I run a 6ft finish mower on it. 4 weeks or so of growth is a lot to ask of it but if you cut your grass even semi regular it can spin a 6ft finish fine. It is a LOAD but it can do it. And a 4 ft with rippers is about all it wants.

Yes and that is the link to the spacers. Yes there pricy but I have looked at other spacer makers online that will make them to custom sizes etc and hoye has a better product at I think a cheaper price. I gave shopped them pretty hard. And there a good company . I want those spacers and there on my short list.

I have a 5 ft box blade. If I adjust the blade to dig into the ground. I can make the 3110D spin the tires, and stop the tractor in it's tracks. Some box blades are also heavier than others too.

My experience with the YM240 (YM2000) was similar. 5 ft is too big for it. I bought a 5 ft Howse box blade (not very heavy) when I bought the YM240 because the tractor is 5 ft wide, and I needed to restore a neglected 250 ft driveway in from the easement.

This knocked down the high-center strip covered with weeds but the tractor would have needed a lot of ballast to do real leveling with it. Then for spreading gravel a full box was more than it could pull without wheelspin. I have hardly used the box blade since then. I should have rented one.

Now the little YM186D I bought a couple of years ago came with an OEM Yanmar 4 ft box because the prior owner was a landscape contractor. I should keep that smaller box and sell the Howse 5 ft one. it's in near-new condition aside from faded paint.

These Yanmars look like a 7/8 scale Ford 8N and rated hp is nearly similar (24hp vs 27) but they don't have weight or therefor the pulling power in similar proportion.

Mine will do good as long as I don't set the blade too aggressive . More weight on the tractor would be good. Tires are already loaded
