Yanmar Model ID

Once again, I am calling on the Forum for some help. I have just purchased a Yanmar, which has YM 276 decals. However, it has been repainted. Cheap, cheap paint job!! I now disc over it is not a YM276!. It has a 2 cyl engine, Number on engine is 2W90S. 3 spd tranny w/H/L, 2 spd PTO, wet(0il bath)air cleaner, cannister type oil filter, located horizontally, beneath inj pump, battery located aft of fuel tank. this is a'grey market' tractor, just don't know model number. Can anyone help me with this. The seller said it would pull a 6' blade or 6' disc harrow!!! I doubt this. As you are sitting on the tractor look on the left fender up high for a small metal tag riveted to the fender. It might have the model number on it. Oil bath air filter sounds like a YM2200 or 2700. Any chance you could post a picture of it? Have you talked to the seller about the tractor yet?

Brent, thanks for the tip. sure enough, there was the original tag, YM 276. Yet everyone tells me the YM 276 has a 3T84H engine(3 cyl) Well, not everyone, but some. This engine is a 2 cyl, the tractor weighs about 2300 lb, and the seller swears it will pull a 6'blade or disc harrow. Guess I will have to just hook it up to a 6' blade and see. Thanks for the info. Are you talking about a regular 6ft grader blade? If so, yes your tractor should pull it. The disc is kind of big for your tractor. I am running just a 5ft behind my 32hp Deere, but I pull it at a good clip. To me a disc seems to work better with a little speed.

One wonders if your engine has been replaced? Can you get any #'s off of it? 2t90 is a 2210 motor but the 2210 has the same powershift trans as the 276. All my research has said that the 276 came with a 3 cyl. I have manuals on cd for it....
I think I have the model #'s correct any way...... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Sorry I read the first thread now. I don't which model your engine came from but I am pretty positive it has been replaced.....

Speaking of model #s, I've seen plenty of places where the grey market numbers are listed, does anyone have a listing of the US models sold, I'd like to see a comparison chart showing which greys correspond to which US models........

Maybe as a collective project everyone can contribute what they know.
Here is an official list of what Yanmar built for their US dealers.

Acording to the parts manuals, it looks like YM240 and YM195 are based on YM2000 and YM1700 with a few additions to meet to US safety standards.

I wonder if this could be YM276 hood and fenders put on some older model tractor.

See if there is a VIN stamped on the side of the transmision next to your left ankle.
