Good eye! Goodness, you are right, they are everso slightly different in size! I didn't even notice as I was stacking, just that some were slanted one way and others another. Lol wow. She said she's seen sets on eBay before. Once I figure out which is correct I will take a look.
Yes, there will be sets going one way and the other. Even in the modern Yanmar tillers it's the same.

Winston posted this a while back, but it still applies.

The entire thread is here.

Much of the people giving you advice today are the same from the shared thread. :)

It's pricey, but stainless steel 316 or 316L bolts are way stronger than the generic stainless steel 18-8 bolts. Since it's a tiller pounding on the soil, I would invest in those bolts and nylocks. :)

Read the MSDS or SDS data sheet. I wouldn't want any of those chemicals touching my garden soil.

I do use PB on my daily driver for vehicle repairs. :)

Normal motor oils and synthetic oils all came from the ground at one time. Those would have less impact on the soil. And there are microbes that will break down oils in the soil quickly in a season. Not so with PB, WD40, or the like.

PB is an antifreeze based chemical. This will harm the garden soil, kill plants, and not at all good for wildlife if food plots are made.

For tractors on organic farms, the antifreeze is changed to RV Pet Safe formulas that align with FDA approvals for use. Sierra Antifreeze is propylene glycol based. The same stuff in salad dressings, BBQ sauces, gummy bears and the like. It's also used to fill tractor tires on organic farms, yet pricey.
Not to be a pedant, well, OK, I'll be pedantic. EVERYTHING on the earth comes out of the ground or the atmosphere. It is what we do with it that makes the difference. Lots of the components of crude oil, for example, are carcinogenic right out of the ground. We separate these components in the most simple of distilling processes and get stuff like baby oil, which we can apply to our skin and drink safely. Though drinking it will tend to give a person diarrhea. And stuff like benzene and gasoline, which you cannot safely drink. From reading the WD40 MSDS it looks like all the components are derived from petroleum. Which comes out of the ground. And though synthetic oils are synthesized from from the same petroleum products that come from the ground, they do not exist naturally. Which is why they are synthesized. Anyway, just sayin'.
Cheers,
Eric,
Who also came from the ground in a roundabout way and will return to the ground but in a more direct way.

Ah you just posted.

OK, since the Yanmar logo marking and the color don't match up, the RS1200 and it's related RSxx00 family are in the first PDF. The second PDF is the RC1200, somewhat related, but added for good measure as your tiller is difficult otherwise to identify.

The 48-inches really narrows things down in a good way to the 1200mm (1.2M) width size.
Awesome thank you! Now I just need to brush up on my Japanese. LOL

You already know Japanese.

Copy page section as image, then past into Yandex OCR. Pick Japanese <===> English.

If it translates funny, zoom in a little more and try again. ;)

Drive Binion shaft = Drive Pinion Shaft

Bevel Vinion = Beveled Union.

Rotagya Case Left = Rotary Case Left.

Japanese is based on phonic sounds to symbols, thus even in translating we sound out the words until it makes sense.

All y'all are awesome, thank you! I had been on here many years ago, but couldn't find my old profile so maybe after so long it gets wiped. But I knew where to come soon as I got this tiller for help! You guys are always so much help! Thank you!

Lets try another one. :)

Bouncing to the diagram and then this list, you can figure out the names.

Now with that said, if you find a part, and it translates really whacky, drop the p/n into a search engine and see if the findings turn up with a proper name. I've done this on many manuals already.

FWIW: Hoye Tractor sizes the times by the size of the bolts. 10mm small & 12mm large. The small set has 32 tines, with a note that the special "end/center" times are no longer available.

All the best,

Peter

It's the rs1200 or 1300 based on the position of the fill bolt on the gear box. yay!

In the RS1200/RS1300 section, go to page 9. Look at item-1.

This is the parts list to the right.

1264L = 1264mm Long.

1264 / 25.4 = 49.763 inches. You measured 48 inside. That item-1 shaft goes to the outside chain case too.

Deduction, you have an RS1200 tiller. :)

The RS1300 is 1359L (1359mm Long.)

1359 / 25.4 = 53.50 inches. Thus it's a 52 inch tiller.

Glad the mystery is solved. Now it's up to you to work towards the restoration. Keep posting to this thread as you make progress. It will keep us intrigued and help others in the near future with an RS1xxx series tiller.

I'm still amazed at the big round Yanmar logo on the machine; Wonder how it became to be on the tiller.
