More like 5, possibly 15, as I recall. The electric system is needed only for cranking and headlights, not for running, so its pretty simple.

Right, I’m sure there’s a way to wire it so the light will work properly with the 1 wire, just need to see the wiring diagram for the light circuit!

Okay, starting to get irritated with the tractor. Bought some three point stuff tonight and figured I’d get it set up and use my tractor for the first time this weekend with the box blade.

Start tractor up, can’t get 3 point to lower. It worked when I bought it. Grr. Come to find out the welds on the little bar that presses on the valve nipple broke off.
Investigating that further the valve nipple wouldn’t push in, AT ALL. So I take it apart, seems like this “piston” should move back and forth in there and it is **** near seized.
Insight?

Was this thing a VN 'Rebuilt' at some point?

A lot of guys have built extractors with threaded rod, nuts and 2x4 blocks

engine sounds good to me. Did you do piston rings and rod / crank or just rings ?
Looks like you might have issues with the 3 point valve. did it work before the engine issue ?. Mine leaks down while sitting. I probably need a new one. I don't know it there is a rebuild kit for these ,or not

Had to buy 2 new pistons, rings, piston wrist pin bearings, head gasket, and rod bearings.

I cleaned the valve up a bit and put it back together. Seems to be free for now. Have not started the tractor yet though.
