im wondering that as well? Im thinking maybe they removed the engine tags? And maybe Mitsu doesn't care as much?

Doesn't make any sense......Yanmar is very brand protective as we all know.....seems like they would have jumped on these guys????

I promise you its probably on the radar now, if not before from a yanmar/legal net nanny i'm sure its getting the attention now that its here, as I am sure someone that reads this site may complain and or someone that keeps tags for a legal department knows about us here as well.

And NO I have NOT called anybody and have not complained. I don't sell yanmars so there not competing with me for anything. I think its wrong if people don't totally know whats going on but I am not "officially" complaining or anything.

Yanmar-USA may not have legal grounds to halt these blue ones so long as TractorCo doesn't use any Yanmar trademarked logos, symbols, etc - based on trademark law.

I don't remember the details but 15 years ago Kubota got a court order for US Customs to turn back gray Kubotas at the port of entry forcing the importer to re-ship them from the dock to anywhere outside the US. Meanwhile Yanmar never had the legal basis to request a similar Customs block, the best they could do was tell Ebay they owned the trademark and asked Ebay to refuse gray Yanmar listings.

So I think Yanmar's attack on the importers in these recent lawsuits was limited to the issue of using Yanmar trademarks without its permission. Now today no trademark visible, nothing to sue over. Assuming that TractorCo ran this by a competent trademark attorney.

We can ask the question why anyone would buy a bastard (in the literal sense) blue tractor but there may not be an enforceable legal issue here.

Just got off phone w/them. Talked to a guy named Luke @(425)888-9084, first number was an answering machine. Asked about Mitsubishi ym2002D w/New generic loader he said. They are are older models that they go through, drivetrain and some engine work, hoses,filters,fluids tires,etc.. Asked about getting parts for these MitsuMars. He said,"that they go thru a place in Texas (HoyeTractors) to get most of their parts, but can go str8 to dealer on some things". Asked why Mitsubishi put their name on them, also he said" since these are grey model tractors and Yanmar don't want to have anything to do w/them. They put Mitsubishi name/color, but all actual parts have to go thru yanmar supplier which they can get at a better price than anyone else. They are a Mitsubishi dealer, but can get parts for any tractor". So there you have it and your welcome.:thumbsup:

Ok I get all that, but why not let the consumer know they are really a yanmar tractor? Why hide what it really is?
