Yet another use for the FEL

I bought a used 3 person Ski Doo jet ski that they set on my landscape trailer with a fork lift with very long forks. When I got it home I put straps under it for and aft and picked up all 800 lbs of it and set it on the floor of my shop to work on it. And when I was done I picked it up again and set it on another trailer that was used to launch it at the ramp. It would have been a major job to get it off the original trailer without the FEL, not to mention on the second trailer again.

I've taken several tires off the rim by lowering the FEL on the tire. Before I bought the tractor there was no way I could get them off.

I've driven over tires with other vehicles to break beads.. not fun.. takes alot of work.. just as much as booting them with a couple of spoons too...

Hey this discussion is fun
1. Kill snakes - I park with bucket @ slight angle to ground and before moving for next days work I level it - push to ground and back out of barn. Yep about once or twice a month I get me a dead copper head that was napping under bucket.
2. Changing flat on front tire. Use FEL to lift tires off ground, block axel and the rest is work.
3.Downward pressure on burn pile compacts loose branches for a better burn
4. Move edges of burning pile closer to center without suffering from heat.
5. Pulling grape vines out of trees
6. Pulling old fence posts out of ground
6. Even move dirt once in a while

Somebody talked about a "boom pole" and showed a picture of it attached to a FEL and lifting a roof truss.

Could somebody tell me how the boom poles are attached to the bucket or how you jury rig one to do so ?

Our county has a mandatory trash collection service. Everyone gets a big (80 gallon?) barrel on wheels. It used to be that once a week I'd walk the thing down the long drive from the top of our hill to the street. Now, though, I have a torn cartilage in my knee and walking is not my thing until it gets repaired. So I ease up on the barrel when it's not looking, snatch and tilt, and get it down to the street in the FEL. I seldom even touch the barrel now, going or coming. I may continue this even when my knee is fixed! Anybody know a good orthopedic surgeon who says things like "I can cut on you tomorrow" instead of "we'll can get you an evaluation appointment in X weeks"?

Last weekend hubby & I needed to move a BH3210 mower, according to the brochure it weighs around 2700#. We first tried to pick up the front of the mower with a chain, but it was too heavy, standing the Bobcat on the front end. So, then he came around to the side of the mower and lifted it off of the ground by putting the bucket under a section of support bracing. I backed the trailer under the mower until we had it positioned so the rear wheels of the mower were in line to straddle the wheel wellsof the trailer. Then he came back to the front of the mower, picked it up and slid/pushec teh mower further onto the trailer. The mower wheels came off the trailer, but we tied them up, it was Sunday am, so there was not much traffic for our 29 mile trip. At the other end of the trip was a real FEL, piece of cake.

I know this thread started with uses for the FEL so my comment won't be fully compatable...but...

Wife had some kind of fighting fish named Hernandez. He was found one morning floating belly up. She wanted me to bury him...I wanted to fling him into the woods.

She was having NOTHING to do with me flinging him into the woods. I said "C'mon...he's only a three inch fish"...

Nope.

So, to be a hiney head, I jumped on Brutus (full sized industrial backhoe with 2' backhoe bucket) and drove up to top of hill where other dogs are buried.

I commenced to dig a 2' or so hole for Hernandez and plopped him in said hole before covering him.

She thought I was nuts. I said no, I'm just lazy...I see no reason to use a shovel when I got diesel power nearby, even for a fish.
