You are a great help to me Allen, I think the water is passing the o-rings on the seelves to the base. Now do you sell parts buddy?

No I don't. You need to talk with Leonard, Bruce or one of the other dealers that frequent this board.

The YM1700 sleeves are no longer available. The good news is you can use YM2000 sleeves, pistons, and head gasket and therefore have a bit more horses.

Thanks,
Bruce

Does the block have to be machined to accept the ym2000 sleeves? or is the outside diameter the same?

How much more HP do you estimate with the new pistons, etc.

Does this cause any valve problems?

The sleeves fit with no machining because the blocks are the same. It is hard to estimate HP because the injector pumps are different. No valve problems.

Thanks,
Bruce

This looks like a question for ( drum roll ) Roger Scotty (echo)

Roger... hypothetically replacing a ym1700 cylinder sleeves with ym2000, and acompianing pistons, etc.
Is ther more CI displacement? I'm assuming yes... if the id of the sleeves is less than the 1700's. Now, the injector pump is still calibrated for the lower ci... will there be mixture problems ( lean? etc? ) ( higher air volume... same amount of fuel injected )or will it be necescary to adjust the pump, or would it run without adjustment?

Just wondering...

Since the HP will increase, what about engine cooling? Since the 1700 does not have a water pump, I would assume the propensity for overheating will increase? Just wondering if anyone has already been through a 1700 rebuild and used YM2000 piston/sleeves?
