YM 2210D How does it work?

/ YM 2210D How does it work? #31
The one time I had to do something like that I was able to back out some bolts that acted as stops on the articulating front axle. This effectively kept the machine from rocking on the front axle pivot. Then, a jack and some jackstands under the center of the transmission case and opposite side axle housing holds things stable and secure.

Here is an update of the status of my YM 2210D that would not go forward. With the help of my Buddy that is visiting from overseas, we finally took the time to take the tractor a part to located the problem. The problem is in the Transmission housing (inner). We found that the (final reduction pinion) had snapped in two. It is parts #61 on the attached drawing. The drawing is from a ym240, it is supposed to be very, and looks to be very similar to my 2210d.

We put a call into Hoye and they are searching for a part for us, so far no luck,... but I am sure they will find us a pinion. Thanks Tom.

Attached is the correct parts page for the 2210D. It is #21 that had snapped. I got a new one from Hoye. I will put it in when time permits. Have a good day. Tom

Just curious what it cost you? And how many hours do you have into the tear down?

I got the part from Hoye. They had a used part. My buddy tore down the tractor and found the broken part in 2 hrs. As you can see from the start of this posting, I originally knew nothing about this tractor, (and I MEAN NOTHING!!!) I was even uneasy about how to jack up the tractor. Once my buddy showed me, It would have taken me 8 hrs or more to find the broken part. I spent another 8 putting it back together by myself. The hardest being not to drop the locking pins for the PTO gear shifters inside the PTO housing and making one of my own gaskets. ( and to find the time) Finding the correct parts diagram also helped. Had my buddy been here, he would have done the same job in 3 hrs, but he is a PRO. The tractor now runs just like it should on the back end,... I am very pleased.

Time to take a look at the front end,.. that will be another learning experience,... and another posting ,.... Tom
