This may not help with your primary problem of starting the tractor, but I happened to replace my fuel bowl assembly recently and had some pictures handy showing the little screw and groove. This is the old damaged one.
When I bleed the lines, I start with the bleed screws at the fuel bowl and work my way downstream to the injectors. Sounds like you've got it bled, though.
