YM2200 clutch replacement options

Thanks. I also found that Yesterday's Tractors and Tractor Joe have the required parts. Any feedback on these folks?

I've never heard either of them mentioned in 8+ years reading this forum. Tell us what you find!

Hoye (because they have a lot of stuff, and good mailorder service) and Danny (PEQ) (because he has posted that he has maintained this unusual model) would be where I would look first.

I think 99% of us have bought from Hoye. I think 100% of us are happy with thier good Customer service quick shipping and knowledge. He seems to have the lowest prices normally or in line with others. Also they site sponser this page.

BUT i think the most important thing is that we run "niche" market tractors that are not as common as others, Especially your 2200. Hoye tries to stock every part he can get his hands on as well as recreating or actually haveing parts made to his specs for obsolete parts(Hoye has recently purchases a CNC machine to accomplish this). This to me means that i want to give all the business i can to him. So if it means buying a seal and bearing or clutch in this example, for $10 more i will. In the long run thats not much, i have no idea the prices of any places were talking but i would do it. It will help a company that really is trying to be the #1 yanmar parts place survive and thrive. That said, if Hoyes clutch is $350 and the next guy is $100 and your confident that its the same quality part and will fit i probly would buy the cheaper one myself.

I wouldn't be surprised if for a lot of Yanmars, the clutch components are the same ones used for Japanese light pickups of the same era. So if you are willing to give up some convenience for a rock-bottom price, then find an experienced parts counterman to select a match by eye.

Additionally, a quality transmission shop can test the pressure needed to compress the throwout fingers or diaphragm, and the compressed thickness of the disc, to verify a precise match.

But its a lot simpler to just order the right parts from Hoye.

When I buy .I usually buy from Fredricks because they are closer to me & I can pick it up. I have bought from Hoye & can say that I have been satisfied with their service & prices

I ended up buying the clutch assy from Jeff McKibban of Jeff's Tractor in Humbolt, IA. Nice guy, quick service and the parts look to be quality pieces. I was just cleaning up the flywheel and noticed some rather significant rust damage where the disk contacts the recessed area of flywheel. That won't do! So here's the question...does anyone have experience having one of these units turned? I like to be ahead of the guy at the machine shop when I show up with something 'odd' for him to play with. Any knowledge to be shared? Thanks

Does anyone have the correct torque values for both the flywheel bolts and those for the pressure plate? The ones listed in my manual can't be correct (289 lbs). Yikes!

If the cover bolts are 8mm I believe they should torque to 20ft lbs.

If the flywheel bolts are part #105225-21500 the torque should be 54ft lbs.

Thanks! I can't find any part# for the flywheel bolts, but they're a 12mm shaft; the cover bolts are 8mm.

54ft lbs is going to be pretty close for a 12mm grade 7 bolt.
