Have a neighbor who is moving out of the country life and wants to sell me her 226D. I have no idea of how to price this tractor. Specs on it show that it is 16 HP and originally sold in the 80's for about $7,000. Has about 900 hours on it. Was used in a commercial landscaping business most of it's life. Seems to run good. Tires are shot. All need to be replaced. When driving it you can hear a rattle noise in the transmission. Still works in all the gears. Any feedback would be appreciated in a huge way!

It is 4 wheel drive and does not have the ROPS. Body is in decent shape but has been sitting outside all it's life

Is there a front loader on it? That increases value substantially, over $1k difference.

Tractordata says YM226D was advertised as 22 engine hp and Nebraska test found 19.5 hp out the pto.

The Powershift transmission is legendary for being bulletproof. I wouldn't worry about a rattle.

My guess would be north of $4k less some allowance for tires if they are in fact unusable. Shabby looking tires are usable, it won't hurt anything to run them clear to failure which might be years.

Appearance is unfortunate. The three Yanmars I have bought at various times all appear to have lived outdoors all their lives. I think a pristine US Yanmar is rare. But the seat upholstery and losing the paint gloss are about the only things damaged by this neglect.

The rear tires hold air but have big chunks of the tread that is separating from the tire. It does have a frontend loader. I have a YM336D that has lost 3rd gear. Top right in shift position so the tranny made me a bit nervous. Have not been able to find either the gear or someone that can replace or fix the transmission on the 336. The clattering sound on the 226 is fairly loud.

Several people have asked for a photo of the 2 Yanmars.

I can tell it is a lazy dog just by looking. :D

Actually that is a very high energy little terrier or maybe I took those photos an hour apart and she is still trying to figure out the next step...
