York Rake--Are they any good!

Is this unit worth $1000? It is a York 6 ft. model RS with optional scarifier, gauge wheels and drop-down blade. Ad says it has never been used but the paint looks tough.

Independently adjustable wheels with the "quick crank". That is a deluxe option I have not seen before. Plus the drop-down grader blade... hhmmm. If it is in decent shape (i don't mean the paint) as far as: no bent tines and things like that, I could see it fetch that kind of price in my neighborhood.

You've got at todays prices $1146.00 for the basic RS rake and $934.00 in options, the castor wheels and the scarifier. If you haven't already, go to York Landscape Rakes for Tractors and ATVs, Rotary Brooms, Stone & Rock Rakes, Sweepers, and Scarifiers Manufactured by York Modern Corporation and look up the RS model. It's one of the lighter rakes built for 10/20 hp tractors so you're right in there. What it doesn't have is the standard factory built angle platform (like my RI model) for a hydraulic cylinder, but it will manually adjust to five preset angles. I saved more than half of what York wants for their hydraulic cylinder kit by buying the parts from TSC. The two cranking rods I think are aftermarket modifications probably to work a road crown and if so, all the better.
If you have a set of remotes, take a close look at the rake to see if it would be possible to fab up a hydraulic angle platform, I sure like mine and use it a lot-much easier than hopping on and off of the tractor while making winrows, ditching and road crowning.
Personally, I would pass it over due to the lack of the hydraulic option but I do think you have some dickering room here.

Looks very handy. I have been looking for a standard 3 pt rake, but one with wheels and independent adjustment would be sweet.

I could add a cylinder to angle adjustment. I would think that the drop-down blade would be handy for moving snow.

Beg your pardon-you did say drop down blade-why was I thinking it had a scarifier?
If it has never been used, why am I seeing what looks like an even rust line a couple of inches up from the bottom of the tines? Might just be a shadow line. Only a visual inspection will tell.

It has both, the drop down blade and the scarifier.
