I'll keep all of that in mind. I probably won't get a need to use the rake until next spring. If I were to move the gauge wheels to "behind the rake", I don't know, if they would interfere with pivoting the rake to 45 degrees or not. "Behind" the tractor would be OK, but I like it out front, so I can watch. Also, I don't have remotes, so the hydraulic top link is out, unless I install remotes.

I like the idea of the rake in front and controlling the rake bite with the curl function. I've been looking for a rake and now when I find one I'll make it a front mount as used SS rakes hardly ever come up for sale. Great idea.

One of the critical things to look for is "gauge wheels" (they are $500 - $700, as options from York), Next, a converter or adapter plate, from 3PTH to SS Quick Attach is available (they probably aren't cheap, either)

From the "experts" (excavators and landscapers), I talked to, gauge wheels are the key. From that point on, the rake should be decent on the front or back. If you find something, check and see, if it can be used, and turned, etc., to work, where you want it, on your tractor.

I agree that the gauge wheels are important.
I made my 3PH to SSQA adapter using a quick hitch, like this Quick Hitch-3-Point Quick Hitch and welding it to a SSQA plate. I found it worked best if the bottom (lower links) stuck out several inches, rather than being flat against the plate. Total cost would be around $200.

Sometimes I'll use the rake on the front of my tractor to clean out ditch banks, or remove debris from the edge of the pond. The SSQA adapter also allows me to attach my carryall to the loader.

For raking my driveway, I prefer the rake on the back. However your mileage may vary. It's great to have the option.

The other thing, which hasn't been mentioned, is the gauge wheels should be "adjustable" in height. If you want to form a crown in your drive, you would set the outer wheel to be short and the inner one to be longer, which would put more bite on the outer side. Once you got the crown established, you could probably level the rake out, as both, the rake and tractor would be pitched, from the crown to the outer edge.

I already have a pair of swivel wheels and steel to make my own gauge wheels. And the SS plate I can buy from Titan or others for around a hundred so just need the rake. I'll find one eventually.

They are around. I'll sell my 3PTH York rake, but I'd guess, there are others closer to you.

I recommend getting a York brand rake if you can. They're pricy, but very good quality.

Here is exactly, what I bought. However, I paid $550 vs. $1700! :)
