That's the only way some programmers can survive, introduce new terms for the same thing and charge for support.
I think it’s more an issue of not understanding that introducing change for minor improvements is not appreciated by their audience. Too many programmers fail to appreciate that the majority of their audience is just using their product as one of many tools to get a job done most quickly, and that minor improvements rarely provide a better user experience, when they come with the cost of more time invested in learning how to use the improved software than is saved on the task at hand.
Always a weird feeling when you outlive your father. I’m 3 years past, at this point. Does that mean the clock is ticking?
