I think it's a simple matter of the counterweight (PHD) being too light...... ;)

Can't tell the model of loader/tractor...but I think it's more than just counterweight.

Looks like the loader was only able to take enough weight off to slide the load. As soon as it cleared, down it went
In that case the ballasteer was also too "light".

Not on file, and the counter weight is off with the neighbor. He uses it to off set his front end snow blower. I use the back blade in winter.

But "visualize" an 18" X 18" X 24 + tall block of concrete with Cat 1 tool bar pin ends sticking out the sides about 6 inches up from the base, and a pair of straps with top link holes out the top. It does a great job of settling the tractor when on hilly lands, (the only kind I have ;-)
Sounds just about what my dad had on the 8N.

Your written/verbal description is good enough for me. That helps me out. Thanks, CalG.

How about one that is 8.89 cu ft ? I've had it for a little over five years now and works good.

Thanks for your picture, CB. That baby looks HEAVY! I have to ask: What is the purpose of the two, angled PVC pipes cemented in the top of the block?

When I had a backhoe on my tractor it took plenty of weight off the front. I had to put a 1000# weight on top of the bucket so I could steer. Without the backhoe I adapted the same weight to go on the 3ph.

Obviously a staged picture, as he could not move the stack of lumber. People do the dumbest things sometimes for a picture. Then complain when they have engine lube problems.

About the very heavy counter weights on the small tractors, consider what could happen if something breaks on the hitch. You could wind up like this photo. Except unplanned and you might wind up dead. A little caution is advised, if you need a ridiculous amount of counter weight to use the loader them you are operating beyond the loader and tractor design limits. Its all good until someone gets hurt.

1335 lbs heavy. Not counting the weight of any steel, which probably cancels out the hollow space from the tool holder tubes.

This, they have a hole in the bottom to let water drain out, it's around 1400 lbs give or take with the extra steel inside it.

So taking a SUBSTANTIAL load off the front axle is not difficult for this little tractor ;-)

Sounds like it!

Caution and an accommodation of the specific situation. ... I have used a ridiculous amount of counterweight only once. If was during a repetitive unloading task where I wanted to keep as much weight off the fronts as possible because I had to run over grass. It prevented forming ruts.
