A friend sent me some photos from Fargo, ND, that must be going around on the internet. If you haven't seem them, here're two that got my attention. I won't be complaining about the snow again. Made me remember reading about guys who had to tunnel thru snow from the farm house to get out to the barn to tend the livestock.

That is impressive, it hould shut up all the whiners who complain about 30" of snow!! ;)

I was in North Dakota several years ago when I worked for a former employer. I was working on a track geometry measurement system that BNSF rail had bought from us. This equipment was installed on coach cars and we usually travelled with the track geometry train for some distance. We had pulled in at a small rail depot on the west side of ND and we went inside to talk with the roadmaster. I noticed pictures on the wall of a some engines and cars that had been snowed in on siding years ago. The snow was several feet ABOVE the tops of the loco's!! They were using trackhoes and big FEL's digging them out.

When it's piled that high, I would worry about an avalanche!! :D

Newfoundland, one reply tells us- could well be, since I couldn't find any info on these photos in the usual internet myth sites. Wherever, it was a lot of snow!

These photos come around every year, not sure where they were taken.

OK, I am a plow guy not a blower guy, but why is the snow coming out of the blower in the first pic not coming out the chute?

Yea it's coming out someplace around the front of blower???..but like you said not out of the chute ?????????

Those pictures look like they're not quite real and I think that observation about the snow not coming out of the chute kind of confirms this. It almost seems like the snow plume was Photoshopped in or something.
