Downstate ? I'm close to Albany.

Fact: Albany waterfront experiences tides.
Living further "upstate" near the Hudson River where it rolls out of the Adirondack Mountains and there's waterfalls and stuff, it's very weird to be near Albany and see the same Hudson River flowing north back towards those mountains!

p.s. I live at about 550' elev. above sea level, in the Lake Champlain drainage basin (the temporary forgotten Great Lake ) .

The boot heel of Missouri near the Mississippi is about 28'.
