Your towing rigs and trailers

Well here we go heres my current rig:

1967 F-350 with a 352 2v v8 np435 4speed dana 70 rear, etc.

My grandpa bought this truck new in 66-67 when the new body style came out he built the flatbed, drove it almost everyday till he bought a new f-150 in 1978 after this it saw duty getting up hay till 1994 when he passed it to my dad, after a quick paint job and going through the engine it remained our #1 workhorse till about three years ago when he passed it on to me. I have been slowly transforming this truck in to a useful truck once again and i use it for my landscaping business to pull either a 12' x 7' utility trailer or a 25' x 98" car trailer.

Future plans: New Paint, 12 valve cummins, heck maybe even the high pinion dana 60 front I have for a four wheel drive conversion.

The trailer is one that I built over a period of about six months and finally got it done last year. Its made of .1 wall 2x4 box main beams with 4" channel stringers, 3/4" B-C grade plywood deck, 3500lb dexter axle, 4500lb springs, 7500 lb bulldog hitch.

Heres how it looked after I built the new sides this weekend.

Very nice, Millsonwheels! A good old Ford "one ton" and history to boot! I've always liked the old one tons. I usually prefer the '71 and '72's but that one sure is slick and has been in the family since new. Looking forward to those posts of retrofitting the engine and 4WD drivetrain.

Thanks, yeah I definitely want to turn it into the most useful vehicle I possibly can, to insure that I can keep it around for along time.

Next on my list for the old girl is some wiring corrections to be made, possibly a whole new fuse box and etc. And right now i need to refine my power-steering conversion (its got a few quirks in it so far)

Just delivered a new DK45S to my brother-in-law and Sister's property in western Michigan with my rig. I also have a DK45 2005 model. The "old" V10 does a good job and the Sure-Trac trailer gives good service!

Great setup Quickster!
I wish they still offered the V10.

Yep, now Ford is screwing up also dropping the big gassers. First Dodge, then GM, and now Ford. These 5.7 to 6.2 L engines just do not cut it in a HD truck.

Nice truck though. Keep the V-10 and do not buy into the hype.

I finally remembered to take a camera with me today and thought I would share a pic of one of my rigs. Usually it has the Kubota L4330 on it instead.
1997 f-350, 7.3 powerstroke 350 000kms (219 000 miles). Still runs like a top. The trailer is an 18 footer, 12000lb torflex axles.

That's one fine looking rig. If I could find a nice V10 Ram 2500 like your's around here, I'd grab it. That DK45S is about the same size as my largest parade tractor, which is why I'm looking for 3/4T pickups and an equipment trailer.

Flusher, I saw where you were the last one to post here and thought maybe, just maybe, you had finally decided on that truck and trailer you've been pondering about!:D:thumbsup:
