More and more there is so much garbage on regular TV I have no choice but to watch a youtube video. Instead of being preeched to on TV about something the station thinks I should agree with or change my mind on I just turn it off.

With youtube I can at least learn something every now and then.

I'll tell you where else it's helped me out. Watching these guys/girls work at something impossible and get frustrated but they keep working at it till they get through their project. When I get into a frustrating project I'll often thing of them and just keep going no matter how miserable the task is and it really does help me our. Keeps me from getting frustrated and thinking I'm the only guy on the planet that has a hart time with tasks.

The other think is watching these people work with what they have on hand. I'm the kind of guy that wants it to be new and perfect, but watching guys do with nothing and still accomplish great things makes me rethink some of my projects to just use what on hand.

All in all I get a lot more from them than what's on TV.

Watch this guy, he's little guy that works on heavy equipment ALWAYS ALONE. Watch what he gets done by himself.

Steve’s Small Engine Saloon

Just checked that one...good suggestion! A quick check showed me that you can put a Stihl trimmer straight shaft on a Stihl curved shaft trimmer in 10 minutes.

Ain't Utube great?

Lotsa good suggestions above, and TBN recommendations are not paid.

I used to watch junk yard wars. I came to the conclusion that it was all staged. They always found what they needed in the junkyard and almost always finished their builds ina few hours. It takes me years!

I feel betrayed when a show has basically just lied to me. A reality show at that!

Not all of my info may be correct, I'm just going by what I've heard over the years. Some channels aren't monetized and you have to get so many views before you can monetize your channel (I think it is 10K total now). If you see ads there's a good chance it's monetized. I run an adblock and see zero ads when using that browser it's installed on. Subscribers, views, interactions all figure into the formula on what Google Adsense pays you. One channel I follow said they make about .003 cents per monthly views. I've been told that even a thumbs down is considered interaction and can count towards views. Go to Social Blade and search for the channel you like. It will have a high and low estimated earnings. You can figure reality is in the middle of those two numbers. One channel she actually said what she makes a year and it seems to jive with what others have said. It seems like a way for the millennials to to skip a traditional job path and make a living. To create more income they often start a Patreon account as someone else mentioned. As it becomes more and more saturated I think depending on an income from YT is a house of cards. It's only a matter of time before YT or FB becomes the next Myspace. I see many that are just flat out ebeggars. There are channels out there in certain subjects where now they make parody videos of the ebeggars. Often they are way more entertaining than Cletus filming himself eating a burger at the local restaurant. Off soapbox

Lots of "click bate" on youtube. There are many channels worth while. When\if I fulfill my dream to retire early in Brazil I plan on doing my own Youtube VLOG as a hobby, maybe earn some extra $$ for editing and camera tools.
If a Youtuber feels passion about what they post then its worth watching, if its only about money "Click Bate"
I have also learned alot from youtubers, like yesterday how to harvest kale from my garden and keep the plant growing more.

Don't laugh! This just amazes me: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - The Danish National Symphony Orchestra (Live) - YouTube

Any and all Dr Hook videos and videos about any chores at hand. Great resource.

How about this version?

I some how surfed into the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and I have been watching their videos.:laughing::laughing::laughing: Amazing what they have done and they have been playing since well into the previous century.

The list slowly changes.
*SVDelos (I like their older stuff visiting remote places on the ocean)...

We have been watching the Delos videos for years now. Still about 6-9 months behind. I did not think anyone on TBN would have been watching them. :D

I watch more Youtube than regular TV since there is soooo much good content on Youtube.

I have been watching quite a few of videos from Townsends. Here is an example:

He has a bunch of videos on cooking and living in the 1700/1800s. Very interesting.
