Have you figured out a disposal solution? My local landfill won't accept them so I am getting ready to start looking at any waste to energy facilities in the region that will take them and hoping I might find one that accepts ties without a permit.

Fortunately I live far enough out that I can just burn them. They are all so old that most of the tar is out of them, so no one really catches on what I'm burning.

Maybe if you chainsaw them into chunks they wouldn't realize what you are dumping.

You're lucky about being able to burn…. I couldn't even if we lived far enough away (concerns about the kids, pets, and wife).

If it was a single use thing I might consider cutting them up and hiding them in a load, but I have to maintain a working relationship with the dump. If I were to get banned from there I would be screwed as far as being able to get rid of unwanted items. if necessary I can always stack 'em and let them rot.

Everyone needs a shooting range.. stack and stake then with rebar, and fill with dirt behind them.:)

A note about placing a clamp outboard of the level indicator.

I found that on mine the clamp is a VERY tight fit between the indicator and bucket edge. It did just fit in there, but then the v-bar thing would not fit in. I was able to just cut off a short piece of one side of the v-bar end and get it to fit past the level indicator and into the clamp.

Thanks for the advice. Very timely as well - it made me go double check my bucket hook locations and double check my thinking. I was going to follow your example and purchase 4 forks so that I could place two outboard of the loader arms and two inboard when moving brush. Its a good thing I checked before placing an order. Turns out I put one of the bucket hooks to the outside of the level indicator and there is no way a fork clamp is going to fit there now. So I placed and order for 3 forks and we'll see how that goes.

Hmmm. I don't have any finished pics of my setup but here they are nearly complete. I added a 3/4 round bar that the bucket edge sits under and 2 top braces with 5/8 bolts that just screw down into the bucket. I decided against tools and welded some rod to the top of the bolts so I can install these in seconds by hand.

Man that looks like it will work very nicely once you get them finished up!

Quick update - So I ordered a set of four forks from bxpanded and they are now sitting in my local UPS customer care center waiting for delivery on Moday. I'm just a little annoyed that I can't go pick them up right now because according to the lady on the phone they have no way to scan my package as being picked up because all of the delivery trucks are out and there are no package scanners at the facility.

I know I am sounding more than a bit pissy but, come on... I can't pick my property because your facility does not have the ability to scan a package? Is there no way to manually enter a tracking code?
