On Monday, I decided to put on the Gator Blades from my MMM and when I started taking the blades off the ZD deck, they were extremely tight had to get my 3/4" socket set and breaker bar. I finally got them out, the left bolt was just spinning in the shaft after I got it loose. The right bolt came out hard also. Threads in the spindle shafts on the left and right are toast as are the bolts. The left spindle was dry and the bearing rough, so I decided to rebuild both of them while it is down. I called Messicks and talked to Will, I told him what happened and he was right on top of it, knew exactly what I needed. A couple of the parts were not in stock so it will take a couple of extra days to get everything. I ordered two spindle shafts, four bearings, four seals, two blade bolts, one anti-scalp axle, and a new belt. Still will have over $1K less in this than the other mowers I looked at. Anyone know where I can get some stump guards for the anti-scalp wheels, I'll be all set.
