Why buy a tractor with a 90 day parts only warranty when you can buy one with a 6 mo. parts & labor warranty, certified ROPS, PTO safety shield, english manuals / decals, saftey start switch, etc, etc, & not reconditioned with parts from who knows where ?? How long will it take you to get parts should you need them ??

Hello inspector !;) Haven't seen you round these parts in a while:D

Ken makes a valid point. We are not in your area, and our prices are not known for being low, but you can buy a 1610D, with Koyker (a well known, made in the USA loader) loader, full UTDA safety enhancement package including OSHA approved ROPS, overrunning coupler, operation manual, clutch safety start switch, etc. AND 6 months parts AND LABOR warranty on the powertrain for that price at many places. A good box blade would add app. $450, an economy model $350. If a guy won't put labor in any warranty, I would ask whether he even provides service. Again, get references...and more references.

... because some of us live 800+ miles from good dealers like you guys!! the $$$ towards the warranty labor does me no good. But you make an excellent point for anyone that can have a local dealer supporting these tractors.

OK Outstanding info. Another question the sn# on the tractor I was looking at is YM 1610 02046 according to the postings this number does not register with a 1610 model or am I misinformed? Is there somewhere other than the left side of the transmission by the pedal I should be looking for a number?

I bought a YM2210 about 3 months ago from Spalding Tractors just south of Atlanta. I have been nothing but thrilled with what I got. His tractors come from Fredricks Equipment in northern Alabama. Fredricks brings the tractors in and do all necessary refurbishing at their facility in Alabama. They warranty each tractor for 6 months parts and labor. Steve at Spalding Tractor adds an additional 6 months to total 12 months parts and labor. Spalding is linked from this site under dealers. If your not interested in a road trip of that length I would call Fredricks and see if anyone in your area sells their tractors. I first saw their tractors at the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie Georgia and they were far better than the ones I had seen at local dealers. The local dealers here in south Georgia could not or would not tell me who or where their tractors were refurbished. They just said "they come from a import guy in Atlanta." Hope this helps.

You are right in the sense that you aren't going to bring it back to the dealer's shop for repair unless it just blows up. But consider...and this is why I always say get references...what a dealer has to offer even at a distance. More than once we have made arrangements for a mechanic to call a customer to walk them through something. Also, a reputable dealer who offers parts AND labor warranty is pretty convinced he's selling you a solid unit, so you're odds get a bit better than buying from just anyone. We have sold many units more than 300 miles away, with the farthest being a pair app 1250 miles away. Many of these folks serve as references for us, but again, you are correct in that it is smart to realize the labor part of the warranty serves only as a statement by the dealer of his faith in the unit.

Go see Ben at Southland. I recently bought a 2610D from him and couldn't be happier. It is an amazing machine.
