I’ve pushed mine to 30 degrees but that’s sketchy. I’d say past 20 is in the gray area. There’s a lot of variables involved to come up with a definitive answer.

Exactly. Grass type, soil type, moisture, mower type, and weight create a lot of variables making it difficult to say any one tire is best for someone.

I haven't seen it mentioned so I need to ask, at which point is a ZTR with bar tires not sufficient and something like a ventrac with duals is required?

Not sure about the name but somewhere in the archives are pictures of a guy answering your question. Quite a machine...articulating, 8wd, as I remember.

Im not really sure what your point is on the second portion of that but here is the spec chart for these. Kenda Tires | Turf / Trailer / Specialty | K472 The load rating is much higher on the 22x11-10 that my mower takes. While I dont run them at 22lbs I currently have them at 15 I believe just because that is the pressure in the manual for rear tires. I may try airing them down a little more to see how it effects performance.

Point I was making was the sidewall on different tires. Sidewall rigidity is necessary for supporting heavy loads on slopes but ride hard. Since my whole effort has been to get a soft ride on my rough terrain, I have been after the soft sidewall tires for my machines and buying tires unseen and un felt/tested, it's a hit and miss thing. In mentioning a 5psi ATV rating and my running them at 10-12 on ZTs for slopes, just makes for a dual purpose tire even though I am running it at double it's rating at times....good on slopes and if the ride gets too rough elsewhere, drop the air back till it works.

Some time has passed since this thread. I have been runnng the bar tires quite a lot of cuttings with good overall success. It took me a while to learn how to "finesse" my ZD331 to not tear the turf, but I think I have gotten much better.
