Zero Turn buying advice

My .02 cents worth. I would definitely go with a commercial unit the hydraulics on the ones at the big box stores are not as well built and are more prone to fail over time . And yes I’m a firm believer in diesel. I’m on my second diesel Kubota after several gas zero turns i still have a small Kubota gas zero turn to get into tight places but my go to is a ZD1211 and I mow anywhere from one acre to five plus and swear by it. A guy that does some of the common areas in our sub division and also some residents lawns uses a zd1211 and he has over 1500 hours on it running some days all day and has had no issues just does normal maintenance. My Kubota will outlive me and while it may not have the suspension of the Ferris the air ride seat makes for comfortable work ….

The neighbor I bought my property from says the same thing and he's got a small engine business.

For the record, I'm not saying "gas is better than diesel", we all know it's not. For the commercial guys, especially those using enough fuel to make it worth sourcing off-road diesel, the ROI time for diesel is much lower. Add to that the convenience of hauling a single fuel for all of your riding equipment, better longevity and resale of the equipment, everything else that goes with it... I can easily see why the commercial guys can make a good argument for preferring diesel.

I'm just saying that very few homeowners can make the same justification, due to the up-front price gap being so large. And yes, I used on-road diesel pricing, because I'm not driving the extra 10-15 minutes round trip required to source off-road diesel for just one mower. The three or four stations closest to my house only carry on-road diesel, and I suspect that may be the case for more homeowners than not.

That is exactly the way I see it.
Ferris’ advantage is on ride quality, but you’ll pay like $10,000+ more than the biggest Kubota diesel 1611-72
