I have a SnapperPro S-150x zero turn mower that I have been running for a few years now. It is time to replace the rear tires and I am looking for suggestions on the replacements.

Tire size is 22x11-10. The current tires are Carlisle Turf Master. They have been OK tires but I wouldn't mind having slightly more traction (hopefully without tearing up my yard).

Thanks for your time!

Maybe an ATV tire that is not a full blown knobby. On an image search, I see a Nanco N244 which would be a notch up from the turf savers and hopefully not too aggressive. They have knobbys too that have a chevron pattern in between the lugs. Lots available in this size.

When I went to a Carlisle At-101 chevron style tire my mower became a whole new machine. i tear up less than with the Carlisle Turfmaster IIs because I spin so much less. I would never go back.

I bought a different mower - same brand (Deines) but went from a 60" to 72" deck and two back wheels. It was used and has turfs on it. I used it once and decided tires are getting changed.

x2 on the AT-101 tires.

IF you know how to run your mower, a more aggressive tire actually does LESS turf damage.

Another idea might be the Carlisle WT300. They’re a mini R4 tread.

I think that I am sold on the AT-101 style tire (chevron bar). Carlisle doesn't show the size that I need. Kenda makes the same style tire and has the size that I am looking for: Amazon.com: Kenda K472 Bias Tire - 22x11.-1: Automotive

Does anyone have any experience with Kenda?

Kenda is known brand and has been used on OEM equipment. Definitely looks to be a step up!

Those Kenda K472's are fine. Also, OTR makes a bar tire in the 22x11-10 size. They are (or at least used to be) OEM on Grasshopper mowers.

Well, I decided to go with the Kenda K472 tires. Mowing season is about on us, so I will be trying them out soon. Thanks for all of your replies. I will update after using them for a while.

How are these tires for backing up in soft dirt? We have a wet slope to mow and the oem turf tires often fail us.

Finally got to try out the new tires. I can tell a big difference in the mower already. They provide great traction and don't tear up the turf if you pay attention to your turns.

Thanks to all for your experience and opinions.

What PSI are you running? Grasshoppers require 8 PSI, which might lower your ride height too much. The low pressure really softens the ride and improves traction.

Those K472's look just like my AT101's

Currently I am running around 18psi. I think the tire max pressure is 22.

Yea, my Country Clipper manual calls for 12 psi. The max rating on a tire's sidewall is not necessarily what your piece of equipment requires, same as automobiles. At 18 psi I wouldn't be able to go very long on my rough, hilly yard.

My tire's max pressure is 22 psi also, but GH manual calls for 8 psi. GH even adds a small sticker on the rims by each valve stem with "8psi" on it as a reminder, since most people probably just air up close to max. They squat quite a bit with only 8 psi, and always look 'low' but they sure ride nice, have great traction, and wear very evenly.

I put some like that on my Craftsman and while it gave good traction to keep me out of my pond, it will dig a hole in the grass in a heartbeat if I get aggressive on a turn. The Craftsman is so light that the tires spin easily, it may not be that much of a problem with your heavier mower, but with weight, comes more traction and more digging ability, so just be careful.
